The Modoc Fire Safe Council, Inc. (MFSC) is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization formed in October 2000 by local residents.  The goal is to enhance the effectiveness of fire prevention and protection through partnerships with local, state and federal fire professionals to implement projects and educational programs that help protect rural communities from wildfire.

The MFSC believes that through public and private partnerships, we can achieve effective fire protection, education and planning.  The key elements of the Mission are to reduce hazardous vegetation, the creation of defensible space around structures, and the education of citizens regarding fire hazards and fire behavior through guidance of local agencies.

MISSION:

To bring together the resources of public and private resource organizations in the interests of wildfire prevention and loss mitigation.
