Subject: Invitation to Collaborate – Wildfire Mitigation Project Committee

Dear Stakeholders,

I’m James Pitcher with the Modoc Fire Safe Council (MFSC). Recently, MFSC was awarded a grant from the Sierra Nevada Conservancy (SNC) to coordinate and develop a comprehensive portfolio of wildfire mitigation projects across the county of Modoc. As a part of this effort, we are re-forming a collaborative committee to guide project development, identify funding opportunities, and align resources to reduce wildfire risks.

We are inviting key partners like CAL FIRE, BLM, USFS, MRCD, NRCS, Volunteer Fire Departments, and Firewise Community Residents to participate in this committee, which will meet regularly to discuss and advance these critical efforts. Your expertise and perspective would be invaluable in helping us shape effective, community-focused mitigation strategies. Meetings will be held quarterly and at the Sheriff’s Annex with an initial date to follow your RSVP to this email.
