Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP)

The Modoc Fire Safe Council (MFSC) is calling on property owners, residents, and local agencies to join in updating the Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) for Modoc County. The CWPP is a critical tool for identifying wildfire risks, setting priorities for fuels reduction, and preparing neighborhoods for effective wildfire response. By contributing to this collaborative plan, residents and stakeholders help shape a safer, more fire-resilient future for our community. MFSC will be holding a series of public meetings this month (November) throughout the County. Subject: Invitation to Collaborate ā€“ Wildfire Mitigation Project Committee Dear Stakeholders, Iā€™m James Pitcher with the Modoc Fire Safe Council (MFSC). Recently, MFSC was awarded a grant from the Sierra Nevada Conservancy (SNC) to coordinate and develop a comprehensive portfolio of wildfire mitigation projects across the county of Modoc. As a part of this effort, we are re-forming a collaborative committee to guide project development, identify funding opportunities, and align resources to reduce wildfire risks. We are inviting key partners like CAL FIRE, BLM, USFS, MRCD, NRCS, Volunteer Fire Departments, and Firewise Community Residents to participate in this committee, which will meet regularly to discuss and advance these critical efforts.
